Tom DeLay was indicted today for conspiracy to commit fundraising fraud. From Yahoo:
"A defiant DeLay said he had done nothing wrong and denounced the Democratic prosecutor who pursued the case as a "partisan fanatic." He said, "This is one of the weakest, most baseless indictments in American history. It's a sham."
One of the weakest, most baseless indeed. At least since the Republicans tried to impeach a President for getting a blow job.

Please! Earle has indicted 15 people, 12 of them Democrats. He is the least partisan guy there is in the "political indictment" field, in which the Republicans specialize.
The issue for DeLay is that this is the charge DeLay was supposed to walk away from free and clear; the real worry was the upcoming investigation into the Abramoff situation.
Trust me. If this indictment doesn't make Tommy finally have to atone for his sins, the next one will. And let's be honest: the Dems aren't the only ones feeling the glee; there is many a dry eye in the GOP as well.
